my first...love

this was my first hand made peice of jewelry!!!!!!!!!!!!
my boyfriend, his dad, and i made this peice its sterling silver, has 2 citron stones set in hand made bezels,
the bottom one done with a hammer and chisel
the top one with an electric chisel with an air controled foot pedal (to show the different, and more advanced methods of silversmithing)
the part along the side has texture hand chiseled in
its actually several peices joined by 'hard soldering' which means that you use a torch, like in welding
with a small peice of solder covered in flux
and when the solder reaches a certain temp. it will "flow"
creating a solder joint
the larger peice on the left had to be filed for the curve,that in concept was supposed to be around the chain, then flattened for the textural portion, then cut with a skill saw to fit next to the bezel
the 'S' shape was also filed then curved
the chain was made by stretching a peice of wire and anealing??? it
then you bend the wire around a jump ring mold and cut it with a foot pedal saw
then the FUN part
you take the millions of lil rings and hand bend them so that when it is arc welded it will fuse together
taking HOURS to accomplish
well like 4 days 2 hours a day =8 hours
